Our story

Built by a baker and a developer. Not a VC platform that will vanish.

I'm Damien. I build Preheat, and I'm the one you'll hear from. Lauren bakes, and she understands what taking a custom order actually asks of you: the details scattered down a DM thread, the price guessed at under pressure, the date that was never really booked. Fixing that is the whole product, and she's the reason it's built for how bakers actually work instead of how software people imagine they do.

If you watched Castiron disappear overnight with your storefront on it, we understand the hesitation. Preheat is two people and a flat price, funded by subscriptions and nothing else, with no investors waiting on an exit. That's a slower way to build, and it's exactly why we'll still be here.

AI and SMS carry monthly allowances on Growth. Every parsed thread and every text costs us real money, so we cap them and say so rather than pretending otherwise. List prices will rise as Preheat grows; subscribe before they do and you keep the price you signed up at, for as long as you stay.

Fair questions

Really 0% of my sales? What's the catch?

No catch. You pay a flat subscription; we never take a cut of your orders or add a markup on payments. Card processing (coming soon via Stripe) will run through your own Stripe account at Stripe's standard rate, and we add nothing on top.

How does the e-Transfer flow actually work?

When a customer accepts a quote, the deposit page shows your e-Transfer details with a unique order reference. When the transfer lands in your bank, you tap “mark received” and the slot locks. No fees, no middleman holding your money.

I'm in the US. Is this for me?

Yes. Venmo, Zelle, and cash are recorded against orders with automatic receipts, and Stripe card payments are coming soon. Everything except e-Transfer works identically, priced in USD.

Do my customers need to download anything?

Never. They tap a link from your bio or a DM reply, fill the form, and pay the deposit, all on fast mobile web pages. No accounts, no apps.

When does the Instagram integration arrive?

Keyword auto-replies (DM “CAKE”, get your form link instantly) are in Meta's review process now. The full DM inbox and AI order parsing follow. Preheat works fully without them. Instagram features are a bonus, never a dependency.

What about cottage food rules and labels?

Preheat generates home-kitchen labels from your costed recipes (ingredients, required statements, prep date) and tracks your revenue against caps you set. We give you the tools and guides. You stay the expert on your local rules.
